Tomorrow Will Be Kinder

A closer look at the image.
A closer look at my die cut flower!

Today caught up with me and I was ill prepared or this post. For those who visited me earlier I apologize. I was practicing my flicking (hair coloring) on this darling image from THE PAPER SHELTER. She is called Keeper o My Enchanted Forrest. She is such a fun color and the teens at church have loved the cards I made with her. I also used some new die cuts I  have from Poppy Stamps and Memory Box. I thought they gave my card a forest effect. A few rhinestones added a bit more sparkle. I have yet to stamp the inside as I will wait and see what I want to use this card for.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: (From The Hunger Games)
Black clouds are behind me
I now can see a hill
Often I wonder why I try
 Hoping for an end
 Sorrow weighs my shoulders down
And trouble haunts my mind
But I know the the present will not last
And tomorrow will be kinder

Another Graduation Card!

A closer look at my card!
A look at the inside of my card!
 The inside sentiment
This is my second graduation card for my friend's grandson. Once again I am trying to stick to the red and white school colors. I used a Precious Moment Coloring Page Image which I colored with Copics. I had some cute graduation stickers (3) that I added to this card. I  (I think it is a boy card thing that I drew a total blank on what to add to this card!) I once again made a pocket for an inside note (1) and a sentiment stamp from stamping up....but it is actually from the Bible! I double mounted my image (2) papers!  I hope my friend is pleased with this card for her special grandson!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: (The Beach Boys) Graduation Day
There's a time a for joy
A time for tears
A time we'll treasure through the years
We'll remember always

Date Night!

A closer look at my image!
 The pretty bow and daisy!
 Another look at my card!
I adore this image from THE PAPER SHELTER she is called "She's Charming" and you can find her by clicking on the link! Remember if you buy an image from The Paper Shelter you not only get the black and white PNG and JPEG, you also get the colored image, and free colored paper background, all for the low, low, price of $3.00! This is such a fun image for a teen age girl. I wanted this card to be a vibrant pink...I think I achieved that look! I colored the image with Copics and added some Liquid Pearls around the image. I added lace from a Taylor Expressions die and accented it with Liquid Pearls. A hot pink sheer ribbon an a quadrupole loop bow, and daisy from WOC finished off my fun card.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Only Sixteen
She was only sixteen, only sixteen
But I loved her so
She was too young to fall in love
And I was too young to know

We'd laugh and we'd sing
And do the little things
That made my heart glow
But she was too young to fall in love
And I was too young to know

Flower Power

 A closer look!

A look at the inside!

I had so much fun making this card. First I love this darling image from The Paper Shelter. It is called "Spring Trends" and can be found here. Our challenge is "Flower Power".  Show us your flowers! The flowers can be any type! Easy Peasy! You should really check out The Paper Shelter! Remember if you use a Paper Shelter image you can win a fabulous $30 to spend in their store. It is a no brainer! I had this pretty DP and thought it would create a lovely background for this cute image. Once I colored the image I fussy cut it and then placed it so she is walking in the lovely flowers. The bird was a bit more tricky as I had to draw the little loose feathers. I added daisies which gave me a circle boarder. I think this will be a perfect card to brighten someone's day and to wish them a Happy Birthday! Please check out the beautiful cards the Design Team made, they will inspire you!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: The Cowsills
I saw her sitting in the rain
Raindrops falling on her
She didn't seem to care
She sat there and smiled at me
And I knew (I knew, I knew, I knew, I knew)
She could make me happy (happy, happy)
Flowers in her hair, flowers everywhere
I love the flower girl
Oh, I don't know just why
She simply caught my eye
I love the flower girl she seemed so sweet and kind.
She crept into my mind.

Happy Graduation!

A closer look at the image!
The left inside of the car!
The right inside of the card!
A closer look at the sentiment!
I apologize for the poor quality of these pictures. I wanted to make this graduation card in the school colors of the sweet girl it was going to. Her colors are brown and gold. I used a gold metallic paper and it reflected the light so no matter what I did I couldn't get a good picture. Plus, it is a dark, dreary day here today. Yesterday it rained all day long and today we have dark clouds and wind. The colors are actually much prettier in real life, but I just couldn't capture them. The image is a Saturated Canary digi and one that I have used many times. I framed the image and the sentiment with a MB die and added some rhinestones for sparkle. I loved the pretty daisy from WOC that I added to the ribbon and bow. The embossing was done with a Cuttlebug  embossing folder.  I hope you are enjoying these graduation cards...just a few more to go! LOL! Have a blessed week.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: I Want To Be More Like Jesus (BJ Thomas)
What kind of man
Would wash men's feet
Get pushed around
Then turn the other cheek
I want to be more like Him
Everyday
In every way
So little time
He took for Himself
He was more concerned
For everybody else
I want to be more like Him
Everyday
In every way

She Thinks We're Just Fishing!

A closer look at the cute image!

 My second card.
 Another close look!
One more look at  my card!
I had such a fun time with this image from Karleigh Sue Digi's called Gone Fishin'. I wanted her to have that tomboy look with a bit of frill, so I added the Polk-a-dots to the hat and the boots. A bit of liquid glass was added to the bobber and a bit of Spica pen to the fish and the button on the her pants to give it a bit of sparkle. I chose different colors and hair colors to accent this cute stamp. I am always amazed how different an image can look with the different colors.
I am entering these cars at the following challenges:

My Song: (Trace Adkins)
I’m lost in her there holdin’ that pink rod and reel
She’s doin’ almost everything but sittin’ still
Talkin’ ‘bout her ballet shoes and training wheels
And her kittens
And she thinks we’re just fishin’
I say, “Daddy loves you, baby” one more time
She says, “I know. I think I got a bite.”
And all this laughin’, cryin, smilin’ dyin’ here inside’s
What I call, livin’
And she thinks we’re just fishin’ on the riverside
Throwin’ back what we could fry
Drownin’ worms and killin’ time
Nothin’ too ambitious
She ain’t even thinkin’ ‘bout
What’s really goin’ on right now
But I guarantee this memory’s a big’in
And she thinks we’re just fishin’

One More Graduation Card

A closer look at the image.
 The inside sentiment!
My scripture from 'Our Daily Bread'.
Are you sick of my graduation cards yet? I must admit making six cards was a bit taxing on my brain. LOL! This card is for a neighbor girl who attends our church. She always appreciates homemade cards and I hope this one is special to her. I added some pretty jeweled heart brads for a bit of sparkle. The DP is from my scrap box. I like the crackled look for this card. Some pretty ribbon and a WOC flower finished off this card. We are having another dark dreary day made my pictures less than perfect. Our spring weather has been a mix of temperatures. I hope the sun is shinning wherever you live.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Softly and Tenderly Calling (BJ Thomas)
Softly and tenderly
Jesus is calling
Calling for you and for me
See on the portals
He's waiting and watching
Watching for you and for me
Come home
Come home
Ye who are weary
Come home
Earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling
Calling O sinner, come home

A Happy Birthday Card!

The inside of my card!

I just wanted to share this quick little card I made. This card is what I consider as CAS....well it is for me! I used some scrape pieces and I also chose "orange". I don't know why I seldom use orange but I always seem to like it when I do. This card went to a friend from church. I try to give each of our members a birthday card. Sometimes it is difficult for me to come up with 'guy' cards for the men in church. I thought this image form PM fit the bill. I hope you enjoy it and your week was filled with blessings.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: Butterfly Kisses
There's two things I know for sure
She was sent here from heaven
And she's daddy's little girl
As I drop to my knees by her bed at night
She talks to Jesus and I close my eyes
And I thank God for all of the joy in my life
Oh but most of all
For butterfly kisses after bedtime prayer
Stickin' little white flowers all up in her hair
Walk beside the pony daddy it's my first ride
I know the cake looks funny daddy but I sure tried

Another Graduation Card!

A closer look at the image!
 A look at the details!
The left inside of the card!
The right inside of my card!
For some reason, I had thought I would not need any graduation cards this year. I guess the kids at church are growing up much too fast for me. Anyway, I spent today making four cards. Because I did not want to purchase another image that I only use once a year and then not every year. I used the same Saturated Canary image on all four cards. (Just warning you as I will be posting each card separate!) I tried to play with my dies and use them in different ways. I admire those wonderful craft artists who can manipulate their dies in unexpected ways. Anyway this card was composed of lots of scraps! I had just a bit of red ribbon, a pocket watch sticker and the DP all came from the scrap box. The inside sentiment if from "Our Daily Bread" and the other sentiment was from a close out bin. I colored my image with Copics and added some Stickles for sparkle. The flowers are from Wild Orchard Crafts.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: You Gave Me Love (BJ Thomas)
You gave me time when no one gave me time of day,
You looked deep inside while the rest of the world looked away,
You smiled at me when there were just frowns everywhere,
You gave me love when nobody gave me a prayer.
That's why I call You Saviour..... That's why I call You Friend,
You touched my heart..... You touched my soul,
And helped me start all over again,
That's why I love You, Jesus..... That's why I'll always care,
You gave me love when nobody gave me a prayer.

Graduation Time!

A closer look at the image!
The left inside of my card!
The right inside of my card!
Another look at the inside of my card!
One more look at my card!
A good friend of mine has two grandchildren that are graduating this year. She asked me to make cards for each of them. Both are graduating from the same High School and their colors are red and blue. Her granddaughter has always been called "Ladybug" so I decided to incorporate them on my card. Since I wanted to stick to the red and blue theme I went with white accents for the card. Some pretty rhinestones added sparkle to my card! The image is from Saturated Canary. I added a tuck in note for my friend to write a 'special note' and she also wanted to add her own sentiment to this card. I felt honored to be asked to make this special card.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Whenever You Remember - Carrie Underwood
When you look back on times we had
I hope you smile
And know that through the good and through the bad
I was on your side when nobody could hold us down
We claimed the brightest star
And we, we came so far
And no they won't forget
Whenever you remember times gone by
Remember how we held our heads so high
When all this world was there for us
And we believed that we could touch the sky
Whenever you remember, I'll be there
Remember how we reached that dream together
Whenever you remember

"The Blue Bird of Happiness"

 A closer look!
 The image!
 One more look!
 The inside of my card!
I recently needed to make a dreaded "guy" card for a friend at church. If you follow my blog you know that I struggle with 'guy' cards. But, I found this fun stamp from "Art Impressions". I love this fun stamp and it makes a quick birthday card for those 'guys' you need a birthday wish for.  I used a dictionary print  DP that was in my stash and added a pretty rusty card stock. I cut both the image and the sentiment with a MB stitched die. A bit of scrap paper that is tore along the bottom edge and some brown rhinestones finished off my card.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: The Bird of Paridise
One fine day as I was a-walkin' down the street
Spied a beggar man with rags upon his feet
Took a penny from my pocket
In his tin cup I did drop it
I heard him say as I made my retreat
"May the bird of paradise fly up your nose"
"May an elephant caress you with his toes"
"May your wife be plagued with runners in her hose"
"May the bird of paradise fly up your nose"

"J" Is for Jewels!

A closer look at the lovely image!

 A peek at the inside!

My Song: Bobby Vinton
When I was just a little boy so high
A pretty little girl came dancing by
She said hello to me and smiled so tenderly
And asked me what's my name
And she wore petticoat white
And summer sky blue
The sweetest little thing
I ever, ever knew
Petticoat white and summer sky blue
The sweetest little thing I ever knew
